Community Guidelines
Last updated: March 28, 2026
These Community Guidelines explain how we expect people to behave on RealA-the app, our website, and related communications. They apply to everyone who uses our services. Following them helps keep the community trustworthy, kind, and safe for finding running partners. They work together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Be real
- Your account is yours. Do not impersonate another person, brand, or organization. Use a profile that honestly represents you.
- Accurate basics. Pace, general location, and other profile details should reflect how you actually run and where you are comfortable meeting-not misleading exaggerations.
- Your photos and bio. Use images and text that are really you (or clearly labeled if you use something else only where allowed by the product). Do not use someone else’s likeness to deceive.
- One person, honest intent. Do not create fake accounts to harass, manipulate matches, or evade enforcement.
2. Be respectful
- No harassment or abuse. Do not threaten, bully, stalk, or repeatedly contact someone who has asked you to stop.
- No hate. Do not attack people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or similar traits.
- Consent in conversation. Keep messages appropriate for making running plans. Unwanted sexual content, graphic language, or pressure of any kind is not allowed.
- Accept “no.” If someone declines a run or stops responding, leave them alone. Do not pressure, guilt, or retaliate.
3. Be safe
- Meet smart. For first meetups, prefer public, well-lit places. Tell someone you trust where you are going and when you expect to be back.
- Use the app first. Keep coordination and plans in RealA until you are comfortable. Do not rush to share phone numbers, home addresses, financial information, or other sensitive details.
- Your health and pace. Be honest about fitness level and injuries. Do not push others past what they are comfortable with.
Read our full Safety page for detailed guidance.
4. No commercial solicitation
RealA is for finding running partners, not for business development. Do not use the Services to advertise products or services, run multi-level marketing, solicit investments, ask for money or gifts, or recruit for paid coaching or training unless we have explicitly allowed it in writing. Casual recommendations among friends are fine; systematic selling or lead generation is not.
5. Prohibited content
The following are never allowed in profiles, messages, or anywhere on the Services:
- Sexually explicit material involving adults, or any sexual content involving minors
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or content that sexualizes minors-we report to law enforcement and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required
- Graphic violence, gore, or content that glorifies self-harm or harm to others
- Doxxing: posting someone else’s private information (such as address, phone number, or workplace) to harass or endanger them
- Illegal activity instructions, fraud, or scams
- Malware, phishing, or attempts to break into accounts or systems
- Spam, bulk unsolicited messages, or automated scraping or messaging without permission
6. Reporting and enforcement
If you see behavior or content that breaks these guidelines or the Terms of Service, please report it. We review reports in light of these rules and applicable law.
How to report: Use the in-app report option where available, or email reala.running@gmail.com with enough detail for us to investigate (such as the other user’s profile name and what happened).
What we may do: Depending on severity, history, and risk, we may warn an account, remove content, temporarily suspend access, permanently ban an account or device, or refer serious matters (including CSAM or credible threats) to law enforcement. We are not obligated to tell you the outcome of another user’s report.
7. Appeals
If your account was suspended or content was removed and you believe we made a mistake, you can ask us to take another look. Email reala.running@gmail.com with the subject line Account Appeal. Include the email address associated with your account, a short explanation of why you believe the action was wrong, and any relevant context. We will respond when we can; not every appeal results in reinstatement.
8. Changes to these guidelines
We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. For material changes, we may also notify you through the app, by email to the address on your account, or by other reasonable means. Continued use of the Services after changes means you accept the updated guidelines.
